About Almins

Almins is a family-run business established 27 years ago to offer clients an unrivalled range of quality feed supplements allied to the highest standards in personal customer service.

The company has continued to grow since its founding and today provides expert advice to farmer clients and feed manufacturers throughout Scotland, England and Ireland.

Almins unique range of innovative products have been scientifically proven in field-trials to deliver beneficial results to the ruminant industry. Our services include balancing transition diets using market-leading Bio-Chlor products on full DCAD and partial DCAD rations; maximising heifer growth-rates using Calf Vantage technology and forage analysis.

Almins supply a range of quality specialist minerals to the beef; dairy and sheep industry as well as, a range of forage additives for grass silage, whole-crop cereals, legumes and crimped grain. The company also provides bespoke beef and dairy minerals to suit individual farms and customer requirements. By analysing individual mineral forage content, the correct balance of each herd’s requirements and performance is achieved.

Almins was established in 1992 by directors’ Archie and Julie Leitch. The company maintains its long-established tradition of offering customers the best available products; unrivalled personal service and value-for-money products. Majoring on maximising animal health through nutritional strategies.

Archie Leitch

Managing Director

Archie is recognised as a leading figure within the animal feed efficiency and mineral supplement industry. He previously worked for a national company prior to establishing Almins in 1992 and offers clients 35-years of experience within the sector. Over the past 27-years under Archie’s guidance, the company has continued to grow on a national basis. He works closely with clients on a one-to-one basis to ensure on-farm performance data is monitored on a positive basis and delivers Almins’ renowned personal customer service. Archie’s unrivalled knowledge and experience within the sector is recognised at international-level having given presentations to dairy farmers and feed companies in the USA.

Julie Leitch

Finance Director

Julie has over 35 years’ experience in Accountancy and Finance.  Initially from a Banking background, Julie founded the company alongside Archie in 1992 and developed the Standard Operating Procedures to help achieve efficiency in Accounts and Administration. The procedures have allowed the company to expand its operations and continue its growth-development to the current national level.

Pauline Doyle

Farm Sales Administrator

Pauline joined the company in 2011 and has a wealth of experience in Accounts and Administration. Pauline is responsible for processing customer’s orders and for the Sales and Purchase Ledgers. She sends forage samples for laboratory analysis and liaises with our independent nutritionist to ensure herd diets and farm rations are up-to-date. Pauline has a keen eye for administration detail and customer service and is an invaluable member of the team.

Sarah J. Leitch

Marketing Executive

Sarah is a recent graduate from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, London. Sarah combines her technical and creative skills to generate a digital presence for Almins. Her roles include the running of the website; social media platforms, branding, marketing and advertising.
